An Apt Weekend

15 May

We were invited by some friends to head to the south of France for a long weekend, but my husband was working on a project where he thought he couldn’t take advantage of the long holiday weekend last week. Fortunately, when he awoke on Thursday morning and checked out his Blackberry he decided the project was at a point where he could leave. So, when he jumped out of bed at 6am and I asked him where he was going he said, “do you want to go to the south of France?” I almost said I wasn’t prepared to leave and that since he said we weren’t going I had created a list of things to do around the house. Then I woke up, and said let’s go! One of the biggest things I think of now that I’m a mom is to give my daughter as many experiences as possible – everything else will be there tomorrow. So we packed up the car and drove three hours to a little place called Apt where we were fortunate enough to stay in one of the most beautiful villas and do APTsolutely nothing besides eat, drink, and relax with of course one small trip to the market. Sometimes I just have to pinch myself….

Thank you to our friends Amaury and Nadege for hosting us, to Stephane for taking the gorgeous black and whites, and to Benben for a great lunch, even if it took five people 😉
